Apart from camera input feature, the latest version of Google translates supports offline language translation. You can download language packs and translate without an internet connection. You can download more than 50 language packs for offline translation.

All you need to do is, just go to Menu and select offline languages. You can download the language packs on your Wi-Fi because it consumes large files. Once you’re done with the download of language packs, you can test it out.

Note: The offline translation has limited feature unlike the online version which has option to have the translated text read aloud. Also does not support input via microphone, text only! Sad to know that iOS people have to wait to download the offline language packs. Android rocks! :D

If you’re already using the Google translate app, update it now! If not, you must install it from the play store.
