Google Plus Photo Album Organizer Launched

Today Google Plus has launched a photo album organizer for simple photo management. If you’re a Google plus user or who uses picasa more to store your photo albums, then you might know that Google plus has replaced Picasa but still picasa exist as a desktop tool from where you can upload and organize your photos to Google+.

Uploading hundreds of photos and organizing the photo albums is a pain. You may sometimes miss some photos, duplicate them in the same album and also displaying them in a shuffled manner. Now with the photo album organizer for Google plus, you can arrange the photos to be displayed in a order and also you can show which albums to be displayed first.

All the stuffs can be done just using a drag and drop of photos. You can create your own order, move or copy photos to another album, or delete a group of photos at once.

It is very much useful for story telling with your photos which includes better photo management. You can reorder your photos and move them between albums, all on Google+.

To get started, open one of your albums and select Organize album from the Options menu. With the album organizer you can:

Sort photos by time: Click Order by date to sort all photos in the album by the photo date, from earliest to latest. Click it again to sort them from latest to earliest.

Reorder your photos: Select the photos you want to reorder and drag them to their new position in the album. You can also move selected photos to the start or end of the album by clicking Move to top or Move to bottom.

Move or copy photos to another album: Clicking Move lets you move or copy selected photos to one of your other albums or to a new album.

Delete a bunch of photos: Click Delete to delete the selected photos.

Once you are done, click Done organizing to return to your album view.

That’s fine, but like Picasa, there’s no way to organize the order of the albums, or to group albums into a collection. Albums seem to be displayed in the order they were uploaded, which is not really ideal. Picasa, at least, could order them by date, etc., but you still couldn’t put them in a specific order. Having collections would be even better.

I completely agree. It’s almost not worth me paying for the extra storage when I have to dig through tons of albums to find the one I am looking for. It’s such a BASIC tool – it amazes me they have not addressed this.
