Wondering what is ifttt ? We had been dealing with lot of ifttt recipes in the recent past. ifttt is a simple web service that basically a simple task creator. ifttt means ‘If this then that’. when something happens (this) then do something else (that). If you upload a photo on facebook, then send me an email. If it rains tomorrow, then send me an sms. So when you put a trigger (THIS) together with an action (THAT) you get a completed task.
So here (If) a new tweet (this), (then) Backup (that) to Dropbox. It archives all your tweets to dropbox folder. All you need to do is, just sign up for ifttt free account. If you already have an account, then just login to your ifttt account, follow this recipe link and authorize your twitter and dropbox account.
Once you’ve logged into ifttt recipe account, go to the recipe link and then authenticate both your twitter and dropbox account. So you can easily allow the task to backup all your tweets to dropbox folder. Now jump into the configuration part. Check the image below.
The configuration part has two steps. You need to specify the tweet URL link to save it dropbox folder. This action will download a file at a given URL and add it to your Dropbox at the path you specify. Next give a name to your dropbox folder. From the dropdown options on the side, select the username part because it sets your twitter username to the dropbox folder.
