We have told you about adding twitter/facebook widgets to blog sidebar to showcase your recent entries from facebook/twitter. Now if you want to show your latest entry from Google+ on your blog sidebar as a small widget, then here you go. Already I told you Google+ ID card wordpress plugin that adds Google+ ID card style widget on your wordpress. Now here is a twitter style widget for Google+.
Google+ Widget allows you to display a Google+ Widget on your website or blog. All you need to do is, just enter the Google+ ID (the lengthy numbers after your plus.google.com/) and get your Google+ API key. To Get your Google+ API key: follow this link, then login and click “Create Project”. Under service list, click “off” button next to “Google+ API” to turn it on. Accept the agreement. From the left menu, go to “API Access” and copy your API key.
It is recommended to use your own API key to ensure your widget won’t be limited by traffic limits. Once these two things are done, then rest is simple. Just customizing your widget with number of entries from your Google+ feed, the background color, padding, border color, radius, text color, link color, footer, header etc.
Finally your widget is ready with the code, just copy paste the code in your sidebar widget and that’s it. It will start showing a Google+ Widget on your blog. Just give a try yourself.
