The thumbnail view in Windows, not only on Windows 7, on XP, Vista you take – it consumes resources as it shows the image preview on folders and files. There by your Windows explorer opens and loads slightly slow. It is always a good option to hide the thumbnail preview of folders and files. In Windows 7, you can easily customize the thumbnail photo preview option.
Here are step by step instruction to disable or hide the thumbnail preview option. Basically there are two ways, one is a easier method just by using the options in the windows explorer. Once you’ve opened a folder, on the right side top of windows explorer, you can see the option to show the folders and files in list, tiles, small icons etc etc. So you can choose that and change the option. The next method is to change in folder and options settings.
Just open the folder window, Click on the organize link on the left side of your Windows explorer. From the drop down, select the folder and search options.
Once you’re into the folder and search options window, on the View tab, you can see the option called ‘Always show icons, never thumbnails’ – so now tick it, click ok or save it. That’s it.
