How to Import Facebook Birthdays, Facebook Events into Google Calendar

February 7, 2011

in Facebook

Already we had talked about the Automatic Facebook birthday wishes sender app named ‘Autobudder‘ that posts the birthday wishes automatically to facebook friends exactly at 12 clock. Now if you’re not comfortable using the Facebook app because as it authorizes your profile information to access the app, you can alternatively use this app named ‘FBcal’ that actually exports the facebook friend’s birth dates and imports them into Google calendar or Microsoft outlook or any other application like Apple iCal, Sunbird, Live calendar etc.

FBCal is a simple app that actually exports your Facebook friend’s birth dates and imports them into Google calendar, Outlook, iCal, Sunbird or Live Calendar, what ever you choose. So just use FBCal, import them into Google calendar, set the alerts and Google calendar will remind you forever.

If you’ve deleted your Facebook account, then also you can get the alerts of your Facebook friends birthday because as you have imported them into your Google calendar account. If you actually don’t want to import them, you can download a copy of it and look at them using Microsoft Outlook. or even take a RSS feed outta them.

It not only imports the Facebook birthdays, but also it can import all the Facebook events such as Attending event, maybe attending, awaiting events into your Google calendar.

On the past, we had discussed about accessing Google calendar through Twitter, where you get instant tweets reminding you about the events or birthdays from your Google calendar, so using the FBCal and accessing Google calendar via twitter, will send you the updates on your twitter account. Just a tip.

Wait, this app wants to access my information when I’m not actively using it? Okay, I can see how it wants to do that in order to add events to my GCal as they’re added to FB, but FdCal wants access to my friend’s profile information as well?

“fdCal is requesting permission to do the following:

Access my basic information
Includes name, profile picture, gender, networks, user ID, list of friends, and any other information I’ve shared with everyone.
Access my data any time
fdCal may access my data when I’m not using the application
Access my custom friend lists
Access my profile information
Events
Access my friends’ information
Birthdays

Um, no thanks. If it were a one-time deal or I could control the information it’s accessing then maybe, but not under these terms.
