We already discussed about the importance of mobile version of the website or blog you own. Once again I repeat, the recent statistics tells that more people access internet through their mobile phone, so obviously the visitors to your websites will be accessing from different mobile phones. Optimizing your website for mobile viewers is an important task now. Also we told about a simple app that allows you to create mobile version of the blog or website, now for WordPress users, we have an excellent plugin named ‘WordPress Mobile Pack’ which gives you full customizing power to the mobile readers.
WordPress Mobile Pack plugin allows you to customize your website or blog for mobile readers. It has complete toolkit to help mobilize your WordPress site. It has a mobile switcher, themes, widgets, and mobile admin pane. Once you’ve installed Mobile Pack plugin, you can find the mobile theme, widgets, switcher options on the Appearance panel.
Along with this, it also provides mobile analytics where it tells you how many visitors has visited your website or blog from the mobile phones. It doesn’t give complete or detailed analytics. If you want, you can use any third party external analytics tool to find out the mobile visitors.
A mobile swticher link is present in the widget panel, where you can add it so that it allows users to toggle between desktop and mobile sites (when a switcher mode is enabled). Also you have set of advanced themes for Nokia and WebKit devices, designed by Forum Nokia. These also look beautiful on Android, iPhone and Palm device.
It comes with the device adaption which includes the rescaling of images, splitting posts into multiple pages. You can also add ads to the mobile version with AdMob or Google’s Mobile Adsense, there is an built in ads widget with Mobile pack plugin. It also adds a barcode widget which adds a barcode to your desktop site so that devices with a suitable reader can quickly bookmark your mobile site, or deep link within it.
It also has visual emulators of different mobile devices, where you can configure the plugin and check out the website finally via the visual emulators. They are nothing but the mobile device screen such as Nokia n70 and other devices. Also it tells you the test summary and errors.
