Normally when you want to download videos or mp3 files or others from sites like RapidShare, Megaupload you want to wait for few seconds before the download starts. This will get even worse for some sites where if the countdown gets distracted the counter will restart from beginning.

How Skip screen works?
Skipscreen as its name skips all these unwanted waiting minutes and take you straight to download link, thereby reducing much of your precious time.
If the Skipscreen fails to take you straight to the download page, it waits for you instead and when the count down completes it automatically downloads the file.
Many sites like Mega upload took several effort to bring this add on down without any success,
Even now they make several changes in their code to prevent Skipscreen from skipping their waiting minutes. You need to constantly update to make this add on to work.
Smartlinks:
SkipScreen addon comes with the opt in feature named SmartLinks. This smartly links words in the page to sites like Wikipedia, Linkedin and New York times. Though this is useful, I found it equally irritating, because the color of the links is as same as the color originally linked in the blog post. Glad this is just an optional feature. I quickly disabled it in options. I prefer the smartlinks to be in different color than the original links. In this way user knows better and they can use this efficiently.
