in Freeware

Recently we had seen Movie thumbnail maker which grabs video caps, screenshots, movie thumbnails from streaming movies. Today similar to that, we are going to see ImageGrab tool which can extract images from videos.

ImageGrab is a free tool that lets you open video files and take screenshots and extract images at particular frame and save it as image files in BMP or JPG format. You can also copy it directly on the clipboard and use it on any application.

Once you’ve installed the application, just open it, load a movie video file. It accepts video file formats such as avi, mpeg, mpg, wmv, mts, m2ts, ts, vob, m1v, mp2, mpe, asf, mkv, mov, mp4, 3g2, m4v etc. It can play the movie file and can be used as a media player too. You can watch the video in full screen.

When the desired video’s position is reached, a simple click (or the function key F5) captures a snapshot from the current picture. It can also extract automatically a lot of pictures at given intervals.
