HowTo Receive Tweets as SMS To Mobile Phones ?

Just noticed that you can set up your mobile phone to receive tweets from particular user as text message. Setting up your phone allows you to send tweets with text messaging on your phone. You will also receive texts for DMs and the tweets from users you want to be notified about.

Its very easy to set up, just follow these steps in order to get tweets as text message. Visit the twitter profile which you want to receive update, Say for example (official twitter account of madrasgeek blog), Clicking the phone icon on a users profile page or your followers page sets Tweet notifications for that user.

Once you’ve clicked the icon, you will be redirected to page where you need to verify your phone number, if you have already done that, then you can receive update just by clicking the phone icon. Now to register your mobile phone and get verified, you need to enter your country and phone number.

Twitter sends a verification code and there by you can receive messages from twitter to your phone. You can then send an SMS text message to the 53000 number and it will post directly to your Twitter profile. You will also get updates to your mobile phone (no charges for this service) but, if you’re posting anything from your mobile, then airtel charges for it.

To turn off the service, you can simply go to the web interface and click off the mobile icon beside the profile page or send OFF, STOP, or QUIT command from your mobile phone to 53000.

i use this dude.. thast pretty fast..
But the only drawback is .. everytime we receive updates,
we get a service reply, that make me disconnec. from net always :)
