Google Map Saver (GMS) is a little free application that lets you to save a segment of the map as a image file for offline browsing. This little map saver application will be very useful for travellers, students etc. They can carry the image file, load into their mobile phones and use for offline browsing or even take print outs and carry them away.
It can save images as JPEG, PNG-8, PNG-24, BMP or Targa files and also supports Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista and Windows 7. It works on Linux and Mac OS X.
It’s like portable application, you don’t need to install on your Pc, just download it on your Desktop and Run-It. You have the options of saving it as map, satellite view etc. You can select the desired resolutions of the map to be saved, for example : If you own an iphone, you can save the map to its resolution (320×480). You can save upto (12000×12000)
When you save the image, it shows a watermark on the image. But it is very easy to remove the watermark, just click the about logo on the top right side and then click agree. That’s it. Now you can save images without watermark.
