5 Must-try Twitter Clients

Twitter is one of the best sites to use if you need real-time updates on a particular topic. But, Making it productive depends upon the way we use it. The Interface plays a big role in making us efficient users of any software. The Twitter’s Web interface is pretty decent to Tweet and to reply to those users who contact us. But, To reach that extra edge with Twitter you will definitely need more. For this reason, I have been trying out different twitter clients and I am going to list out the best below.

Number 5: HootSuite

HootSuite is a very popular twitter client that provides you over a dozen features the Twitter Web interface hasn’t got. It has a cool feature called AutoTweet that tweets when you blog or do some online activity which you have configured with HootSuite. It also has a URL shortenener, but not the best in the market. It gives you the option of Scheduling your tweets. This is a very unique feature that isn’t available on most clients. But, It is known for going down often. It isn’t always reliable.

Number 4: Seesmic Web

Seesmic started as a modest Video Blogging website and now they have twitter clients for almost all the gadgets you may have. Seesmic Web is somewhat similar to HootSuite and can be used from your browser. Seesmic also has a twitter client called ‘Twhirl’ which is a small Adobe AIR app that is installed on your machine. It is a lot more stable than HootSuite and looks cool as well.

Number 3: Brizzly

Brizzly has a cute mascot which makes you stay on their site forever. But, seriously, this one should not be underestimated with it’s looks. It helps you manage multiple twitter accounts seamlessly. I recommend that you try it.

Number 2: Twitterfeed

This is a widely used twitter client to auto update one’s twitter account. It synchronizes all your activity on the web and provides real time updates for the followers making your job extremely easy. This is a must for Bloggers.

Number 1: Tweet Deck

Tweet Deck, an Adobe AIR based desktop application is my personal favorite. It has the best URL shortener I have ever used and sharing photos with twitter has never been this easy. Thanks to Tweet Deck. It’s also available for your iPhone. Unlike most of the other clients this one needs to be installed on your machine. The only pre-requisite is that you must have Adobe AIR installed.

Now that I have introduced you to the most popular clients start tweeting and let us know what you think. If you feel that a good one is left in this article feel free to mention that in the comments section.

Hootsuite is my favorite. If only they would allow more than 10 tabs at a time within one account, that would put them over the top.

We use Mixero, another Air app, most of the time. At work, I will sometimes switch off to TweetDeck or HootSuite.
