The title of the post says it all, yes The Geek Toolbox is a simple online service which has several tools for geeks out there. Geeks must be different from others, trying to impress others with their online presence. These tools are handy to use and the website is a must bookmark one. It will be very useful for all and all the tools which are listed out are frequently used by everyone on daily basis.

The Geek Toolbox is a website, which has a collection of tools that will help you to do all that “geek” stuff you do every time. All of these tools are provided for free and handy to use. In their words “Tools for the survival of a geek”

Currently the website comprises of 9 tools. These include UTC Time, My IP address, Days between two dates, Resize image, Proportions calculator, Banner Generator, Favicon Generator, MD5 encoder, Base64 encoder/decoder.

UTC Time – It shows the universal time, below the UTC time, it displays your current local time.

IP Address – It displays your IP address.

Days between two dates – Enter any set of two dates, it displays the number of days between the specified set of two dates.

Resize image – As the name tells you, it resizes the image according to your command.

Banner and Favicon Generator – It helps you to create a banner like 468×60 etc.. and also favicon for your websites. Favicon are short website icons which get displayed in the address bar of every browser.

MD5 encoder – It’s an online encoder tool to encode any string into a MD5 hash. MD5 hash is a powerful encryption tool which is used for storing passwords into database. Many forums and websites which asks your password, will store your passwords into database after encrypting them into MD5 hash.

This Geek toolbox is currently in beta stage, so hope it adds more tools in future. Many might say, all these tools are available plenty around the web and when we just Google for it, we can find more. But, for me a clear idea strikes off.

If you’re more interested towards coding, just try to code these types of simple tools, make a perfect list and create your own toolbox website. It would be great if you have your own toolbox site like MadrasGeek Toolbox :P
