Let me directly come to the point, how important is the Sitemap for a large website ? before answering the question, let me tell you what is Sitemap ? and How it is useful for a website to index the pages in Search engines ? Sitemap is the map for Search engines like Google, yahoo, bing etc and tells about the structure of your site and helps in easy indexing of pages. It is not totally necessary to submit a sitemap to google, but if you submit you can get your entire site indexed as quickly as possible. Once your sitemap is submitted and If your site is indexed better you will get more traffic from Google Search engine.
