Best Online and Desktop Image Editing Tools


Salaam Alekum! pronounced as (sulam ulakume) don’t be wondering what is that, I greeted all my readers in Arabic language. so today when i was talking to my friend through Gtalk he asked me to suggest some image editing tools for his blogging use, decided why shouldn’t I write something on that ?


Now I have some two divisions: Online and Desktop Image Editing tools, First ill share Desktop Image Editing tools which i use it and recommend personally.

1. Photoscape :
Photoscape is a cute photo viewing and editing software with different features. It has viewer, built-in Flickr option so that you can view the random Flickr images, batch editor , Merge images, Animated gif maker, Print, Splitter, Screen Capture, color picker, Renamer , Raw converter. I use only Photoscape for cropping and Merging images. The above picture(Obama and stuff’s) is done using Photoscape and it only took 3 mins for me because it contains all ready made icons :)

2. Paint.NET :
Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. This is one of the best alternative for Photoshop which is less than 2MB and supports plugins. You won’t find a better one than this!

3. IrfanView :
IrfanView is another great tool that lets you view and convert images. You can do more advanced things like creating slideshows, batch processing, and playing sounds and movies. You can view any file format with IrfanView. Plus, it also supports plugins and even has different toolbar skins so that you can change the look of your toolbar. Though IrfanView has less emphasis on image editing and more on image viewing, it’s still one of the best!

4. Picasa :
As you all know Picasa is one of Google’s products. Its helps you to easily upload your images to web from your computer in easy steps. It also provides powerful editing tools. Then use Picasa Web Albums to share those photos online with family, friends, and the world.

5. Fotografix :
Its one of the best alternative for Photoshop, it allows you to adjust and add filters to images as well as retouching photos.You can also use layers so that you can even create basic graphic designs and transparent backgrounds. Since the file size is so small and doesn’t require installation, Fotografix can be run from a USB drive. There is support for a large range of different image formats. Fotografix also allows you to use scripts which automate frequently repeated tasks.


6. GIMP :
GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.
