PDF format is quite popular for ebooks, manuals, and so on. For mobile phones/mobile devices, there are several free PDF readers available to be used so that you can read them anywhere and whenever you choose as well as increase your productivity.

Here are the suggested ones.

1) Adobe Reader for Mobile Devices

Adobe Reader for mobile devices, Adobe Reader LE is developed by Quick Office to enable user to read Adobe PDF files downloaded from a desktop computer or server to mobile device.There are no obvious difference between the result generated by Adobe Reader LE and PC-based Acrobat Reader.

For Adobe PDF files which were created with tags, small screens will benefit from them and Adobe Reader LE will render them accurately for decent reading experience.

Price: 15 USD per user, free trial available

Compatibility: Symbian OS, Palm OS, and Pocket PC

2) Foxit Reader for Windows Mobile

It is built based on Foxit Embedded PDF SDK, Foxit’s new PDF rendering engine for mobile platforms. This software advantages are it is light weight, amazingly fast, able to view PDF files on mobile devices, reflow any PDFs for easy viewing, find text in a PDF file, support multiple language, easily customizable and low cost.

The downside is it is priced at 19.99 USD per user (for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Windows Mobile Smartphone) which is slightly more expensive than Adobe Reader LE. The price for Windows CE is not yet to be disclosed.

Other platforms: Foxit Reader for Symbian OS and Embedded Linux are now available. They are free for evaluation and the licensing information will be provided soon.

I can’t image that it will be long and pdf readers will be available for free on mobile devices.

At this moment there is not even a single worth installing free pdf reader for symbian devices.

My Java phone would never get one I suppose. I use one which I downloaded from Zedge.net

Effective for small files <2 MB. More than that and the mobile crashes. Restart again :)
